Hi there!

This is Yilin, founder of Hyperknow. We’re so excited to welcome you here.

This is an evolving guide on how to get the most out of Hyperknow. It comes from countless conversations with students, researchers, and lifelong learners who have used Hyperknow in their own study workflows. Many of them told us: “You should really write this down so more people know how to use Hyperknow better.”

So here it is — a short guide to help you understand what Hyperknow is, what it is good at, and how to start using it in the most effective way.

What is Hyperknow, and who is it for?

We built Hyperknow based on a simple imagination:

What if the best professor you’ve ever met could sit next to you, understand your materials, explain difficult concepts clearly, and guide you through your learning step by step?

That is what Hyperknow is trying to become.

You can think of Hyperknow as your smart professor, learning partner, and study assistant — built to help you with almost any problem you encounter while learning.

Hyperknow can help you:

  • Understand difficult concepts

  • Generate study materials such as notes, summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and cheatsheets

  • Create structured learning paths from 0 to 1

  • Learn with your own files, slides, readings, and textbooks

  • Review before exams

  • Plan study sessions

  • Explore new topics with guided explanations

  • And much more

Hyperknow was originally designed for college students. But if you are a lifelong learner, researcher, high school student, self-learner, or simply someone who loves learning, you are more than welcome here.

Why should I use Hyperknow instead of NotebookLM, Gemini, ChatGPT, or other AI tools?

As students, we tried many AI tools, but still frustrated by one thing: when it came to learning hard academic concepts, we often felt they were not enough. Some explanations were full of jargon. Some were too shallow. Some gave answers without really helping us understand. And when the topic became genuinely difficult, the explanation often became either too abstract or oversimplified.

Hyperknow was originally built to help us learn quantum mechanics.

We wanted an AI that could break down difficult ideas into understandable pieces, explain things at the right level, use diagrams when needed, cite sources accurately, and guide us like a real teacher.

Since then, we have introduced Hyperknow to students across 20+ colleges around the world. Again and again, we heard the same thing: current AI tools are useful, but they still don’t explain difficult academic concepts well enough.

That is where Hyperknow tries to be different.

Hyperknow focuses on:

  • Clear and understandable explanations

  • Personalized teaching based on your level

  • Well-structured answers instead of messy responses

  • Visual explanations with images and diagrams

  • Accurate explanations with citations

  • Learning with your own files and course materials

  • Voice mode, if you prefer listening

  • Different explanation modes depending on how you want to learn

Beyond explanations, Hyperknow is also built to make your study life easier. It can generate quizzes, flashcards, explainer videos, review materials, and especially cheatsheets — one of the most loved features by students during finals season.

For many students, Hyperknow is not just another chatbot. It is a learning tool built specifically for studying.

I’m new to Hyperknow. What should I try first?

Here are some of the best ways to experience what Hyperknow can do:

1. Give it a hard concept

Start with something you have struggled to understand for a long time.

For example:

“Explain eigenvalues and eigenvectors like I’m learning them for the first time.”

“Explain quantum tunneling with intuition, examples, and diagrams.”

“Help me understand why gradient descent works.”

A good test for Hyperknow is not whether it can answer an easy question. It is whether it can make a hard concept finally click.

2. Upload a long reading or textbook chapter

Try uploading a long PDF, reading, textbook chapter, or research paper.

Then ask Hyperknow to:

  • Summarize the key ideas

  • Explain the structure

  • Extract important arguments

  • Create study notes

  • Cite the relevant pages

  • Turn the material into quiz questions

Hyperknow is especially helpful when you have too much material and don’t know where to start.

3. Make a cheatsheet before an exam

If you have an exam coming up, try generating a cheatsheet.

Upload your slides, notes, or review materials, then ask Hyperknow to create a concise, well-structured cheatsheet for review.

This is one of the features students love the most, especially during finals.

4. Learn something from 0 to 1

If there is a topic you have always wanted to learn, ask Hyperknow to build you a learning path.

For example:

“I want to learn machine learning from zero. Build me a beginner-friendly learning plan.”

“I want to understand macroeconomics before my class starts. Teach me step by step.”

“I want to learn linear algebra for deep learning. Start from the basics.”

For deeper guided learning, you can turn on Deep Learning Session and let Hyperknow guide you through the topic more systematically.

5. Turn on voice mode

If you prefer listening, try voice mode.

It is useful when you want to hear explanations while walking, commuting, resting, or reviewing on the go.

Sometimes, hearing a concept explained out loud makes it easier to absorb.

6. Connect Canvas or upload course files

If you connect Canvas or upload your course materials to the knowledge base, Hyperknow can better understand your classes and help you source information from the right files.

This makes the experience much more personalized.

7. Let Hyperknow help you plan review sessions

Once your materials are uploaded, ask Hyperknow to help you plan your review.

For example:

“I have an exam in three days. Help me make a review plan based on these files.”

“Which topics should I focus on first?”

“Quiz me on the most important parts of this course.”

“Find my weak spots and help me review them.”

Hyperknow works best when it has context about what you are learning and what your goal is.

A small piece of advice

The best way to use Hyperknow is not to ask it to replace your learning.

Use it to guide your learning.

The more you interact with Hyperknow, the better it can help you understand.

Best of luck, and enjoy your Hyperknow journey!
